  A.Pengertian Present Continuous Tense

Present Continuous Tense adalah salah satu bentuk tenses yang digunakan untuk menentukan suatu tindakan atau peristiwa yang sedang terjadi saat ini atau pada saat pembicaraan sedang berlangsung.

   B.Contoh kalimat

1. I am studying english at school now.[ Saya sedang belajar bahasa inggris di sekolah sekarang ].
2. He is reading a newspaper now.[ Dia sedang membaca koran sekarang ].
3. She is washing her cloth for this time.[ Dia sedang mencuci pakaiannya sekarang ini ].
4. They are spending their holiday at Jakarta now.[Mereka sedang menghabiskan waktu liburannya di Jakarta ].
5. My brother is playing a game now.[ Saudara saya sedang bermain game sekarang ]                                                                                                  

C.RUMUS/POLA PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Berikut adalah rumus atau pola simple present tense:

Kalimat Positif

Pola: Subject + be (is/am/are) + verb -ing (verb: teach)
I am teaching English.
You are teaching English.
We are teaching English.
They are teaching English.
He is teaching English.
She is teaching English.

Untuk subject:

• I gunakan am.
• You, we dan they gunakan are.
• He, she dan it gunakan is.

Kalimat Negatif

Pola: Subject + be (is/am/are) + NOT + verb -ing (verb: teach)
I am not teaching English.
You are not teaching English.
We are not teaching English.
They are not teaching English.
He is not teaching English.
She is not teaching English.

Untuk subject:

• I gunakan am not.
• You, we dan they gunakan are not (aren’t).
• He, she dan it gunakan is not (isn’t).

Kalimat Tanya

Pola: Be (is/am/are) + subject + verb -ing (verb: teach)
Am I teaching English?
Are you teaching English?
Are we teaching English?
Are they teaching English?
Is he teaching English?
Is she teaching English?
